George Washington Auto Park

Description
The George Washington Auto Park is composed of 140,000 square feet of double tees. Double tees, stairs, columns, inverted tee beams, rectangular fascia, ramp walls and stair/elevator walls were all produced in Shockey Precast Groups Winchester, Virginia plant. The location near the newly renovated George Washington Hotel in the heart of historic downtown Winchester made it necessary for the parking structure to blend into the surrounding architecture. The exterior features thin brick panels with architectural buff light sandblast accents and gray from liner panels in the shape of stones. This project is one of the first to use the C-GRID® manufacturing process for the production of the double tees by Shockey Precast Group. This process uses carbon fiber reinforcing in the flanges of the double tee.

Calvert Street Parking Structure

Description
The Calvert Street Parking Structure utilizes a mix of highly articulated thin-brick and architectural precast elements. The facade's design called for two colors of thin brick in standard running or Flemish bond coursing. The presence of highly articulated, ornate cornice and sill details of architectural precast presented additional challenges.

Richmond International Airport Parking Structure

Description
Phase II of this parking structure in Richmond required nearly 1,300 pieces – approximately 72,000 square feet – of architectural precast concrete. Shockey fabricated and erected spandrels, column covers, column caps, banding, coping, and bollards. The facility features two architectural mixes: white with a light sandblast finish and buff with a light acid-etched finish. To match the original structure, more than 92,000 thin bricks were cast into the structure’s buff panels. The general contractor joining Shockey on this project was Mid Eastern Builders of Chesapeake, VA.
