Description
The new HITT contracting, Inc. headquarters is located at 2900 Fairview Park Drive
in Falls Church, VA. The three-story office building has 37,712 square feet of structural and architectural
precast. Spandrels, parapets, walls and window units were manufactured in Shockey Precast Group’s Fredericksburg plant.
Pre-Construction Services
The Shockey Precast Group was hired by HITT for this project. Although this project was not a
true design-build endeavor, prior to bidding/award, the SPG worked through constructability details with the GC and
design team to ensure that the precast and all interfacing trades were properly identified for best practice.

Description
Aberdeen Center for Excellence is a campus of 8 buildings constructed in Aberdeen, MD.
The owner used Tompkins Turner Grunley Kinsley Joint Venture as a construction group to build this campus under
a design build gross maximum price contract. Precast was chosen as an economical solution to clad the buildings
and give a very pleasing look to the customer. Shockey Precast Group worked diligently with our customer on what
would be the most cost efficient design that would come in under budget of the overall project.
Pre-Construction Services
The Shockey Precast Group was hired for this design-build project in 2007 consisting of approximately 376,000 square
feet of architectural precast cladding on six office buildings. Five of these six buildings were designed to have
the exterior precast façade behave as the lateral force resisting system for the buildings. This VE option saved
the owner approximately $1,600,000.

Description
Shockey provided 55,067 square feet (645 pieces) of structural and architectural precast
for the Overlook office building. This includes column covers, coping, sills, caps, window units, spandrels
and parapets. The finished building has a light sandblasted white buff architectural finish.

Description
The Reston Town Center Block #15 office buidling is clad in 19,191 square feet
(145 pieces) of architectural precast. Cladding spandrels/parapets we produced in Shockey Precast
Group’s Fredericksburg plant. The exterior features an architectural white acid etched finish.

Description
For this project, located in Loudoun County, VA, The Shockey Precast Group provided
its adaptable architectural precast concrete spandrels, column covers, banding, and coping. A striking
three-story, Class A office facility, the building is a combination of glass, brick, and architectural
precast concrete cast in a simulated limestone with an acid wash finish. The precast components were
fabricated in Shockey’s Fredericksburg, VA plant. Joining Shockey Precast on the construction team was
general contractor Whiting-Turner Contracting of Chantilly, VA.

Description
A spandrel and column design, the Federal Gateway Office Building in downtown
Washington, DC stands a testament to the virtues of building and designing with architectural precast concrete from
Shockey. The facility’s exterior finish is a light gray/slate green with an acid wash finish. The approximately 54,000
square feet of architectural and structural components include spandrels, column covers, and wall panels fabricated
in Shockey’s Fredericksburg, VA plant. Spaulding & Slye Colliers of Washington, DC were both general contractor
and owner on this project.

Description
The second of three office buildings Oracle plans for the property located adjacent to the
Dulles Toll Road in Reston, VA, the Phase II office building provides 200,000 square feet of office space. The
precast design – buff simulated limestone – matches the original office building. The second level of the structure
is stepped back from its lower level and the mass supports a “tower” at one end, which sets off the front of the building.

Presidents’ Park Office Building
Description
The Presidents’ Park project consisted of two office buildings and two parking
structures. Each office building is approximately 220,000 square feet and includes a parking structure
that can accommodate 400 vehicles. The buildings are clad with architectural precast concrete on a steel
structure with poured concrete floors. The precast features two colors with a light sandblast finish. The
Shockey Precast Group was able to match the color and finish for all four structures and complete the project
ahead of schedule. The general contractor for this project was James G. Davis Construction Corporation of Rockville, MD.

Description
Built in two phases, over a period of two years, the office building at
Two Washingtonian Center in Gaithersburg, MD features two different architectural precast mixes.
Shockey manufactured spandrels, column covers, wall panels, and window units in its Winchester, VA
plant, where the raw materials for phase two were stored until production time. In addition to the
Shockey Precast Group, the construction team included the general contractor, Clark Construction of
Bethesda, MD.

Description
For the Sallie Mae Office Building in Reston, VA, The Shockey Precast Group manufactured
and erected more than 1,100 pieces of precast in a very tight space, using both conventional and tower cranes.
The second phase of the project consisted of architectural precast concrete cladding of an existing underground
parking deck and the placement of architectural precast elements at the top surface of the deck. Shockey fabricated
spandrels, column covers, wall panels, coping, planter walls, banding sills, stairs, and u-shaped planters at their
Fredericksburg, VA plant. Joining The Shockey Precast Group on this project was general contractor Hitt Contracting
of Fairfax, VA.

This 11-story triangular office building in downtown Washington, DC
features 87,000+ square feet of architectural precast concrete from Shockey. It is clad
with column covers, spandrels and wall panels in two colors. The predominant finish is
a light buff mix with an acid wash, which replicates a limestone finish. The second
mix and finish is a red/gray with a medium sandblast. Manufacturing of the precast elements
took place in Shockey Precast’s Fredericksburg, VA plant. The general contractor on the
project was Clark Construction of Bethesda, MD.

The structure was formed using double tees, interior inverted tee beams and columns. The
finished structure is one level with a light sandblast architectural buff finish exterior panels and structural grey panels.
