The Shockey Story.  Major milestones in Shockey Companies' history:

• 1896 -- Howard Shockey starts a carpentry business in Winchester, Virginia. 
• Howard Shockey & Sons becomes a regional leader in general contracting and design-build services.
• 1946 -- Crider & Shockey, Inc. emerges as the first ready-mixed concrete provider west of the Blue Ridge.
• 1956 -- Crider & Shockey's precast, prestressed division becomes a separate company known as Shockey Brothers, Inc.
• 1999 -- Shockey Brother, Inc. changes its name to The Shockey Precast Group.
• SPG carries on the Shockey tradition of outstanding craftsmanship and exceptional customer service. 

Today The Shockey Companies employ more than 700 individuals and deliver more than 200 projects per year. The innovative spirit and "do-it-right-the-first-time" attitude that set Howard Shockey above his competitors in 1896 is a legacy that continues to reaffirm Shockey's reputation as the Partner of Choice throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
